MODULE 01: INTRODUCTION TO ETHICAL HACKING

Module Overview

This module introduces learners to the core principles of ethical hacking, providing a solid foundation in how attackers think, how systems are protected, and how cybersecurity professionals legally and ethically identify vulnerabilities.

Participants will explore the fundamentals of hacking, security controls, and legal frameworks, while understanding the role of ethical hackers in securing modern digital infrastructures.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Define ethical hacking and differentiate it from malicious hacking
  • Understand the hacking lifecycle and methodologies
  • Identify different types of threat actors and attack vectors
  • Explain security controls and defense mechanisms
  • Understand legal, regulatory, and ethical frameworks governing cybersecurity
  • Apply foundational knowledge to real-world scenarios

MODULE 02: FOOTPRINTING & RECONNAISSANCE

Module Overview

This module introduces learners to Footprinting and Reconnaissance, the first and most critical phase of ethical hacking. Participants will learn how attackers gather intelligence about targets using both passive and active techniques, without directly exploiting systems.

By mastering this phase, learners will understand how to identify publicly exposed information, map target environments, and reduce organizational attack surfaces.

 Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Define footprinting and reconnaissance in ethical hacking
  • Differentiate between the types of footprinting and reconnaissance
  • Identify various information sources used by attackers
  • Perform basic OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) gathering
  • Analyze collected data to identify potential vulnerabilities
  • Understand how reconnaissance impacts real-world cyber attacks
  • Perform real world  practical footprinting and reconnaissance using special tools exclusive to CYBERGON

MODULE 03: SCANNING & ENUMERATION

Module Overview

This module builds on reconnaissance by introducing learners to Scanning and Enumeration, where attackers actively interact with target systems to discover live hosts, open ports, services, and vulnerabilities.

Participants will learn how to systematically map networks, identify entry points, and extract detailed system information  a critical step before exploitation. This module equips you with the skills to uncover vulnerabilities and prepare for real-world penetration testing.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of scanning and enumeration in ethical hacking
  • Identify live systems, open ports,  running services etc
  • Perform different types of network scanning techniques
  • Conduct service and user enumeration
  • Analyze scan results to identify potential vulnerabilities
  • Apply scanning techniques using industry-standard tools
